4,000TH ROBOTIC ASSISTED ORTHOPEDIC JOINT REPLACEMENT MARKS MAJOR MILESTONE FOR LOCAL HOSPITAL
LARGEST JOINT REPLACEMENT PROGRAM IN THE COUNTY AT THOUSAND OAKS SURGICAL HOSPITAL

THOUSAND OAKS, CA – July 18, 2025— Los Robles Health System is proud to announce that it recently completed its 4,000th robotic assisted orthopedic joint replacement. The milestone procedure was led by Los Robles Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Harpreet Bawa at the hospital’s Thousand Oaks Surgical Hospital (TOSH) campus. Robotic joint replacement is a minimally invasive option utilizing technology that includes a robotic arm controlled by the surgeon and CT-scan technology that creates a 3-D virtual model to assist throughout the joint replacement procedure. Los Robles started implementing robotic assisted technology for orthopedic procedures in November 2018 at TOSH and has since become the largest joint replacement program in the county.
“Continuing to invest in robotic assisted technology to accompany the diverse services we offer to our patients and community is a top priority for me,” stated Los Robles Health System CEO, Phil Buttell. “We are proud to offer both traditional and robotic assisted orthopedic procedures so that our patients and community have access to choosing a treatment plan that not only features the latest technology, but that is close to home,” stated Buttell.
Los Robles Health System excels in both traditional and robotically assisted surgery for orthopedics. In fact, the hospital has received multiple awards and accolades related to orthopedics by Healthgrades, an online platform that provides patients with information about physicians and hospitals. Awards and accolades include:
• Recipient of the Healthgrades Orthopedic Surgery Excellence Award™ for Seven Years in a Row

“Providing a minimally invasive alternative to traditional orthopedic surgery is important for our community and our patients,” stated Dr. Harpreet Bawa, orthopedic surgeon at Los Robles Health System. “Robotics has revolutionized so many industries, and joint replacement is no different. My goal is to get my patients back to doing the things they love most, and robotic assisted surgery helps me to consistently achieve that by providing patients with customized surgical intervention, reducing postoperative pain and allowing for faster recovery,” stated Dr. Bawa.
